You must accept these Terms of Use and the ZoneNews Privacy Policy before you can use the news and analysis commands. ZoneNews ("the bot", "we") is operated by BaconLight Studios™.
- The first time you use a news command, the bot shows you the agreement in that command's language.
/acceptrecords your acceptance. From then on, the news and analysis commands work for you./denyrecords that you declined. The news and analysis commands stay unavailable until you accept./revokedeletes your agreement record. You must accept again before using the bot.
If you do not agree with these terms, do not use the bot.
2. What ZoneNews Does
ZoneNews shows a list of recent world headlines and short AI-generated analyses of them in five languages.
- Headlines: About every 12 hours, the bot reads public RSS feeds (currently BBC World, Technology, Business, and Science). It keeps the 10 newest headlines, each linked to the publisher's original article.
- Analysis: Each headline receives a 2–3 sentence analysis generated by Google's Gemini AI model. The analysis is based only on the headline text, not the full article.
- Translation: Headlines and analyses are machine-translated from English into Turkish, German, Spanish, and Russian.
- Refresh: At each refresh, previous headlines and analyses are deleted and replaced with new ones.
- Commands: Each command responds in its respective language:
/sondakikaand/yorumla(Turkish),/newsand/analyze(English),/eilmeldungand/analysieren(German),/noticiasand/analizar(Spanish), and/новостиand/анализировать(Russian).
ZoneNews is free to use. We do not sell anything through the bot.
3. Who Can Use ZoneNews
You may use ZoneNews only if you are permitted to use Discord under Discord's Terms of Service, including meeting the minimum age requirement applicable to you. You must also follow the rules of each Discord server where you use the bot.
4. Acceptable Use
When using ZoneNews, you agree not to:
- Spam commands or use automation to send large numbers of requests to the bot.
- Attempt to disrupt, overload, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the bot, its server, or its database.
- Present AI-generated analyses as verified facts when they have not been independently verified.
- Use the bot in a way that violates applicable law, Discord's Terms of Service or Community Guidelines, or the rules of a server.
We may restrict or block access for users who violate these rules, subject to applicable law.
5. AI Analysis and Translation Are Not Verified Facts
Analyses are generated automatically by an AI model using only headline text. They may be incomplete, outdated, misleading, or incorrect.
- The AI does not read the full article. Although it is instructed not to invent facts, it can still make mistakes.
- Translations are generated by machine translation and may change the meaning of a headline or analysis.
- Headlines may be approximately 12 hours old because the list is refreshed on that schedule.
- The bot's output does not constitute professional advice, including legal, financial, medical, or other advice, and should not be treated as fact-checking.
Always read the original article linked under each headline before relying on the information.
6. Third-Party Content and Services
Headlines and linked articles belong to their respective publishers. ZoneNews displays headline text with links and does not own or control the linked content.
ZoneNews depends on third-party services, each of which operates under its own terms and policies:
| Service | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Discord | Delivers commands and bot replies |
| BBC RSS feeds | Supplies headlines and article links |
| Google Gemini API | Generates headline analyses |
| Google Translate | Translates headlines and analyses |
| Argos Translate (optional) | Provides offline translation if installed on the bot's server |
To the extent permitted by applicable law, we are not responsible for the content, availability, or practices of third-party services or linked websites.
7. Availability, Changes, and Ending Use
ZoneNews is provided free of charge and may occasionally be unavailable. For example, an analysis may be missing while the AI service is busy, or a translation may be delayed.
- We may change, add, or remove features, commands, news sources, or languages at any time.
- We may suspend or discontinue the bot, with or without notice, subject to applicable law.
- You can stop using the bot at any time. Use
/revoketo delete your agreement record, or remove the bot from your server if you manage it.

Where required by applicable law, we will notify users of material changes or obtain renewed consent.
