BaconLight Studios™ — Community Rules & Policies

Effective Date: 10 September 2026 · Last Updated: 10 September 2026

These Community Rules & Policies establish the general standards of conduct for the official BaconLight Studios™ community, including its Discord server and community spaces operated directly by BaconLight Studios™.

They are intended to provide a clear, fair, and consistent standard for members, staff, developers, and other participants in the community.

1. Scope of These Rules

These rules apply to the official BaconLight Studios™ community and its general community environment.

They are intended to regulate:

  • member conduct;
  • communication and discussions;
  • use of BaconLight Studios™ community channels;
  • interaction with staff and developers;
  • community-generated content;
  • advertising and promotion;
  • support requests;
  • bug reports and feature requests;
  • moderation matters; and
  • general participation in the BaconLight Studios™ community.

These rules do not attempt to replace the individual terms, policies, or rules applicable to a specific BaconLight Studios™ product.

2. Product-Specific Rules

2.1 General vs. Product-Specific Rules

BaconLight Studios™ develops and operates multiple products and services. Individual products may have requirements, limitations, rules, or policies that are specific to their functionality or intended use.

For this reason, the rules contained in this document should be considered the general community rules for BaconLight Studios™.

A specific product may have its own:

  • Terms of Use;
  • Privacy Policy;
  • Community Rules;
  • Usage Guidelines;
  • Support Rules;
  • Documentation;
  • Acceptable Use Policy; or
  • other product-specific requirements.

2.2 Which Rules Apply?

If an issue concerns the general BaconLight Studios™ community, these Community Rules & Policies apply.

If an issue concerns the use of a specific BaconLight Studios™ product, the rules and policies published for that product should also be consulted.

Product-specific rules may contain requirements that are more detailed, restrictive, or technically specific than these general community rules.

For matters specifically concerning a product, the product's official documentation, rules, or support server should be treated as the primary source for that product.

Nothing in this section removes or overrides applicable Discord policies or other legally applicable requirements.

3. Respect and General Conduct

Members are expected to treat other members, staff, developers, and community participants with reasonable respect.

The following behavior is not permitted:

  • harassment or targeted bullying;
  • repeated unwanted contact;
  • personal attacks intended to intimidate or harass;
  • threats;
  • deliberately disruptive behavior;
  • targeted hostility toward another member;
  • encouraging others to harass or target a person;
  • attempts to create unnecessary conflict within the community; or
  • behavior that substantially interferes with another member's ability to participate normally.

Disagreements and criticism are permitted.

Members may disagree with BaconLight Studios™, its products, staff, developers, decisions, or other community members. Constructive criticism is not prohibited simply because it is negative.

However, disagreement does not justify harassment, threats, targeted abuse, or deliberate disruption.

4. Hate and Discriminatory Conduct

Content or behavior that attacks, dehumanizes, or promotes hatred or violence against people based on protected characteristics is prohibited.

This includes hateful slurs, discriminatory harassment, and attempts to encourage other members to target a person or group because of a protected characteristic.

BaconLight Studios™ follows the applicable Discord policies regarding hateful conduct.

5. Threats, Doxxing, and Personal Information

Members must not threaten other people or attempt to expose another person's private information.

The following are prohibited:

  • threats of violence or physical harm;
  • publishing another person's private information without appropriate consent;
  • encouraging others to expose private information;
  • sharing private contact information for harassment;
  • doxxing;
  • attempts to identify anonymous individuals for harmful purposes; and
  • using personal information to intimidate, threaten, or target another member.

Members should also avoid unnecessarily posting their own sensitive personal information in public channels.

6. Spam and Unwanted Content

Spam is not permitted.

This includes:

  • repeatedly sending the same or substantially similar messages;
  • message flooding;
  • excessive mentions;
  • unnecessary repeated reactions;
  • disruptive bot commands;
  • unsolicited mass messages;
  • intentionally filling channels with irrelevant content; and
  • attempts to disrupt normal conversations through excessive posting.

Moderators may remove content that is technically different but functionally amounts to spam or deliberate disruption.

7. Advertising and Promotion

Advertising, self-promotion, or promotion of external services may only take place in channels or situations where it is explicitly permitted.

Members must not use BaconLight Studios™ channels to:

  • repeatedly advertise unrelated services;
  • send unsolicited promotional messages;
  • mass-promote servers, bots, products, or websites;
  • privately contact members for promotional purposes after being asked not to; or
  • use the community primarily as a source of unsolicited advertising.

Staff may permit specific promotional activities where they consider them appropriate for the community.

8. Scams, Fraud, and Deceptive Activity

Scams and fraudulent activity are prohibited.

This includes attempts to:

  • obtain another person's account credentials;
  • deceive members into sending money or valuable items;
  • impersonate legitimate services;
  • distribute fraudulent offers;
  • use fake giveaways or rewards to deceive members;
  • manipulate members through deliberately deceptive claims; or
  • facilitate other fraudulent activity.

Members should report suspected scams to the moderation team where appropriate.

9. Malicious Activity and Security

Members must not intentionally attempt to compromise, disrupt, damage, or gain unauthorized access to BaconLight Studios™, its products, infrastructure, Discord servers, or other members' accounts.

Prohibited activity includes:

  • unauthorized access attempts;
  • credential theft;
  • phishing;
  • malware distribution;
  • malicious links;
  • deliberate exploitation of vulnerabilities for harmful purposes;
  • denial-of-service or similar disruptive attacks;
  • attempting to bypass access controls;
  • intentionally damaging services or infrastructure; and
  • using discovered vulnerabilities to harm users or services.

Responsible Security Reports

If you discover a genuine security vulnerability affecting a BaconLight Studios™ product, do not publicly exploit or distribute the vulnerability.

Instead, report it privately through an appropriate official support or contact channel where available.

10. Impersonation

Members must not impersonate:

  • BaconLight Studios™;
  • BaconLight Studios™ staff;
  • BaconLight Studios™ developers;
  • Ticketly;
  • ZoneNews;
  • Discord;
  • another member; or
  • another organization or service.

This includes deliberately creating misleading accounts, profiles, messages, or other representations intended to make others believe that the impersonator is someone else.

Parody or obvious jokes may be permitted where they are clearly not intended to deceive or cause harm.

11. Channel Usage

Members should use channels for their intended purposes.

Examples include:

  • #support — General product support;
  • #bug-reports — Reporting technical problems;
  • #feature-requests — Suggestions and feature ideas;
  • #showcase — Sharing relevant projects or work;
  • #general — General community discussion.

Members should avoid intentionally placing unrelated content in channels where it interferes with their intended purpose.

12. Bug Reports

Bug reports should contain enough information for the development team to understand and investigate the issue.

Where possible, members should provide:

  • what happened;
  • what they expected to happen;
  • steps to reproduce the issue;
  • relevant screenshots;
  • error messages; and
  • other information that may help identify the problem.

Members should not intentionally submit fabricated bug reports or repeatedly submit the same report without providing additional relevant information.

13. Feature Requests

Feature requests are welcome where the relevant channel is available.

Members should explain:

  • what the proposed feature is;
  • why it would be useful;
  • how they expect it to work, where applicable; and
  • any additional information that may help the development team understand the proposal.

Submitting a feature request does not guarantee that BaconLight Studios™ will implement it.

Feature requests may be accepted, rejected, modified, postponed, or closed at the discretion of the development team.

14. Support and Staff Interaction

Members are expected to communicate with support staff in a reasonable and respectful manner.

Do not:

  • repeatedly open tickets for the same unresolved issue without reason;
  • intentionally provide misleading information to support staff;
  • abuse support channels;
  • pressure staff into making exceptions;
  • impersonate another user when requesting support; or
  • intentionally waste staff time through disruptive or fraudulent requests.

Being dissatisfied with a support decision does not prohibit you from respectfully requesting clarification or escalation where an appropriate process exists.

15. Staff and Moderation

BaconLight Studios™ staff may moderate the community to maintain safety, organization, and normal operation.

Moderation may include:

  • warnings;
  • message removal;
  • temporary restrictions;
  • timeouts;
  • removal from specific channels;
  • kicks;
  • bans; or
  • other reasonable actions appropriate to the circumstances.

The exact action taken may depend on:

  • severity;
  • intent;
  • previous violations;
  • frequency;
  • impact on other members;
  • whether the behavior continued after intervention; and
  • other relevant circumstances.

Moderators are not required to apply exactly the same action in every situation.

16. Rule Evasion

Members must not intentionally attempt to bypass moderation actions.

This includes:

  • returning through alternate accounts after a ban;
  • deliberately circumventing restrictions;
  • using another person to continue prohibited behavior on their behalf;
  • manipulating permissions to avoid moderation; or
  • exploiting technical limitations to evade enforcement.

Attempts to circumvent a moderation action may result in additional enforcement.

17. Abuse of Bugs, Features, or Permissions

Members must not intentionally abuse bugs, configuration errors, permissions, or unintended functionality to obtain unauthorized access or disrupt the community.

If a technical issue creates unintended privileges or access, members should report it rather than deliberately exploiting it for harmful purposes.

18. Intellectual Property

Members must respect the intellectual-property rights of others.

Do not knowingly submit, distribute, or promote content through BaconLight Studios™ community spaces in a manner that infringes another person's intellectual-property rights.

This includes unauthorized use or distribution of copyrighted material where such use is not otherwise permitted.

19. Discord Rules

These Community Rules & Policies supplement Discord's own policies.

All members must comply with Discord's Terms of Service and Community Guidelines in addition to these rules. Discord's Community Guidelines apply across Discord, including servers, content, behavior, and apps.

If Discord's policies prohibit an activity, BaconLight Studios™ does not permit that activity simply because it is not specifically listed in this document.

Discord may independently enforce its own policies regardless of any action taken by BaconLight Studios™.

20. Applicable Product Policies

Where a BaconLight Studios™ product has its own Terms of Use, Privacy Policy, or other official documentation, users should review those documents before using the product.

Examples may include:

Ticketly

Product-specific terms and privacy documentation apply to the use of Ticketly.

ZoneNews

Product-specific terms, privacy documentation, and usage requirements apply to the use of ZoneNews.

This list may change as additional products are introduced.

21. Moderation Discretion

Not every possible situation can be anticipated in a written rule.

BaconLight Studios™ may take reasonable moderation action against behavior that:

  • clearly violates the purpose of these rules;
  • creates a significant disruption to the community;
  • attempts to circumvent the rules through technicalities;
  • creates a meaningful safety or security risk; or
  • otherwise substantially harms the community.

This provision is not intended to prohibit ordinary disagreement, criticism, discussion, or harmless behavior merely because staff dislike it.

Moderation should be based on the circumstances and the actual impact of the behavior.

22. Appeals and Questions

If you believe a moderation action was made incorrectly, you may contact the moderation team through an appropriate support channel where an appeal process is available.

Appeals should explain:

  • what action was taken;
  • why you believe it was incorrect;
  • any relevant context; and
  • any information that may help staff review the decision.

Abusive, threatening, or spam-based appeals may not receive further consideration.

23. Changes to These Rules

BaconLight Studios™ may update these Community Rules & Policies as the community develops.

Changes may be made to:

  • clarify existing rules;
  • address new forms of abuse;
  • reflect changes to Discord policies;
  • introduce new community standards;
  • accommodate new products or services; or
  • improve the operation of the community.

The Last Updated date should be changed whenever substantive changes are made.

Members are responsible for reviewing the current version of these rules.

24. Relationship Between Community Rules and Product Rules

For clarity:

These are the general rules of the BaconLight Studios™ community. They are not intended to be a complete rulebook for every BaconLight Studios™ product.

Each product may have its own official rules, Terms of Use, Privacy Policy, documentation, and usage requirements. For matters specifically concerning a product, always refer to that product's official documentation or support server.

Where a product-specific rule addresses a matter that is unique to that product, the product-specific rule should be followed for that matter.

All applicable Discord policies and laws continue to apply regardless of which BaconLight Studios™ rules or product policies are being consulted.

25. Final Notice

By participating in the BaconLight Studios™ community, you agree to follow:

  1. these Community Rules & Policies;
  2. applicable product-specific rules and policies;
  3. Discord's Terms of Service;
  4. Discord's Community Guidelines; and
  5. applicable laws and regulations.

BaconLight Studios™ reserves the right to moderate the community in accordance with these rules and the circumstances of each case.

These rules exist to keep the community organized, safe, useful, and welcoming while allowing members to discuss, criticize, suggest, and participate freely and responsibly.
