1. Information We Store

ZoneNews is operated by BaconLight Studios™ ("we", "us", or "our"). When you use a news command for the first time, the bot creates an agreement record containing the following information:

These are the four types of information stored in your agreement record. Technical logs and information processed by Discord or other third-party services are described separately below.

2. Information We Do Not Collect

According to ZoneNews's intended functionality:

• We do not intentionally read or store your ordinary Discord messages. The bot processes the slash commands and interactions needed to provide its functionality.
• We do not intentionally store your username, display name, avatar, email address, or IP address in the ZoneNews agreement database.
• We do not maintain a history of the news commands you use as part of the agreement record.
• Your Discord client language may be read to select a response language for certain commands, but it is not saved in the agreement record.
• We do not use cookies, advertising trackers, or analytics tools for ZoneNews.

Discord itself may process information when you interact with the bot. See Discord's Privacy Policy for details.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your agreement record only to determine whether you have accepted the Terms of Use and to respond appropriately to your agreement-related commands.

We do not sell or rent your agreement record, use it for advertising or profiling, or intentionally share it with AI or translation providers.

We rely on your recorded choice to manage access to the bot's news and analysis commands and to maintain a record of that choice. Where applicable data protection law requires a specific legal basis, we will process the information on that basis.

You can withdraw your agreement at any time by using /revoke. This deletes your agreement record from the bot's agreement database. It does not delete information independently retained by Discord or any third-party service.

4. Third-Party Services

ZoneNews uses third-party services to deliver its functionality. The bot is designed to send public news text, rather than your agreement record, to its AI and translation providers.

If the optional Argos Translate backup is installed, translation is performed on the bot's server rather than sent to an external translation provider through Argos Translate.

When you open a "Read original article" link, you visit the publisher's website, which processes information according to its own privacy policy.

Third-party providers may process technical information as part of delivering their services. Please review their policies for further details.

5. How Long We Keep Data

Error logs are intended to record technical events, such as which operation failed and why. They are not designed to store user IDs or message content. However, technical logs may contain information incidentally, depending on the error and logging configuration.

Using /deny keeps your agreement record with a declined status. Use /revoke to delete that record from the bot's agreement database.

6. Security, Your Rights, and Contact

Security

Agreement records are stored in a database on the server running ZoneNews, which is operated from Türkiye. Access is restricted to authorized personnel. We aim to minimize the information we retain and use reasonable measures to protect it. No system can be guaranteed completely secure.

Your rights

Depending on your location and the applicable law, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in the European Union and the Personal Data Protection Law (KVKK) in Türkiye, you may have rights regarding your personal data. These may include the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your data, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

We will respond within the period required by applicable law.

Children

ZoneNews is intended for people who are permitted to use Discord under Discord's Terms of Service and the age requirements applicable to them. We do not knowingly collect additional personal information from children through the bot beyond the information necessary for its agreement functionality.

Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top indicates when it was last revised. Where required by applicable law, we will provide notice of material changes.

7. Applicable Law

This Privacy Policy is intended to be interpreted consistently with applicable Bulgarian law and applicable European Union data protection law, including the GDPR where applicable. Mandatory data protection rights under other applicable laws, including the laws of a user's country of residence where relevant, remain unaffected.
